Wings on Water

Crew wanted: Friendship/Relationship
Vessel: Sailing Boat
Size:14 m
Location: South Africa
Destination: Brazil
Logged in: 20 hours ago

WingsonWater: Wings is ready to cruise! After six years fitting out the boat I have finally closed my business and I am looking for competent crew (who might develop into a relationship) to join me on this next phase of voyaging through life. A happy and willing disposition is essential. I am not in a position to support crew so financial independence is also required. I have no time-line - only the wish to be in sparkling water, white sand beaches and green swaying palm trees....and enjoying the elixir of life with a like-mind.

obelisk

South Africa and the Atlantic

Crew wanted: Amateur crew
Vessel: Sailing Boat
Size:51 f
Location: Thailand
Destination: South Africa
Logged in: 2 days ago

obelisk: Well, we have made it to Madagascar after a fantastic trip across the Indian with stops at Cocos Keeling, Rodrigues, Mauritius and Reunion. After the passage to Richards Bay, South Africa, I will complete a few boat projects and then head south and west to Capetown. From there, it's up the coast to Namibia and across the South Atlantic with stopovers at St. Helena and Ascension before making landfall in French Guiana. Itinerary after that is TBD but I will likely not be too long in the Caribbean as I have cruised it extensively already. However, the Dominican Republic and Cuba are on the list.

I'm looking for one, possibly two, crew to join the boat in South Africa. Dates and locations are flexible but would ideally be between mid-December and early-January. Send me a message here or on board at WDE6544 (at) sailmail (dot) com.

Come experience the finest sailing anywhere across the South Atlantic!

SeagullSA393

Casual unpaid 'crew' needed for sailing around table bay

Crew wanted: Amateur crew
Vessel: Sailing Boat
Size:11 m
Location: South Africa
Destination: None
Logged in: 2 days ago

SeagullSA393: Hi I am a very inexperienced skipper that needs a few extra pair of hands (and minds sometimes) to take my boat out for a sail on weekends and public holidays. It Is also a very good excuse to meet interesting people and learn new things at the same time. Unfortunately this is not a paid position but you can earn the odd sea mile. I have been slow at responding due to repair work that needed to be done on the boat but we are back in full swing. This website is quite tedious to use on an iPhone and I use my laptop for work related items mostly so it's probably best to whatsapp me on +27828529786 or send an email directly to Renate.myburgh@gmail.com. Thanks and happy sailing. Renate

Pigletsails

Circumnavigate Madagascar

Crew wanted: Captain/skipper
Vessel: Sailing Boat
Size:36 f
Location: South Africa
Destination: Madagascar
Logged in: 2 days ago

Pigletsails: Hi, my name is Errol and I have recently purchased a 36ft Jaguar catamaran, in which I intend to circumnavigate the world, but that's another story!! Before I head out on my world journey, I would like to spend some time seeing and exploring the beautiful island of Madagascar. In this quest I would like to sail from Durban as close to 1 July 2017 as the weather permits, sail up the east coast to Vilanculos in Mozambique and then across to Madagascar west coast, after a naughty ride over Bassas da India with all rods set. We will then sail up the west coast fishing, exploring, diving (I can't because I blew my ear drums, but nothing stopping you!!), relaxing, partying and having fun.

Vlakvark (the Afrikaans word for Warthog) is her name, affectionately known as the Piglet. She is a very spacious boat with 4 queen cabins with 2 nice heads, a big saloon and comfortable cockpit easily caters for 6 crew. I am busy refitting her with everything I need for safe and comfortable blue-water cruising, I'm not into slumming it, hee hee!!

Now, a bit about me. I'm a retired property developer, have lived my life on the water, although all under power, so sailing is a new thing to me. I will, by July, have my coastal skippers ticket, but feel more comfortable having an old sea-dog along for the ride. The crew will share the expenses, but those will not be huge, as there is an abundance of fish in Madagascar, hope you like fish!!

I enjoy exploring, cooking, partying (although the boat is dry on crossings), fishing, chatting, relaxing and generally enjoying life. I'm very considerate and expect the same from the team, safety conscious and like to maintain a tidy boat.

If you would like any additional information or would like to join on the adventure, please give me a shout.

Cheers and safe sailing
Errol
