Bulbo

Pacific crossing and life 2017

Crew wanted: Recreational Crew
Vessel: Cruise Ship
Size:43 f
Location: Mexico
Destination: French Polynesia
Logged in: 11 days ago

Bulbo: In March I like to sail around the sea of Cortez, which I already cruised and enjoyed early this year. We'll have the opportunity to better explore this beautiful area, swim with sea lions, whale and whale sharks, sleeping in fantastic anchorages and have good sailing all along. My sailing style is very relaxed but conservative, friendly but orderly: I like a clean, not messy boat! We'll share all chores and duties, Italian cooking is preferred. The crossing to French Polynesia (the crew is completed on this passage) is 3000miles long, about 17/20 days, but should not be very challenging. I already sailed from Galapagos to Mexico across the ITCZ last year and had very variable but extremely enjoyable weather. In May/June I like to cruise and enjoy the marquesas, then the Tuamotus then crossing to Raiatea, where I plan to leave the boat for the remaining of the year, to fly home. The following years we will sail all the way to Australia.

Logged in: 63 days ago

citycruisesrecruitment: We are currently recruiting for Captains and Mates with a passion for both customer service and boats to join our fleet here at City Cruises.

City Cruises is the leading operator of passenger services on the River Thames in London, carrying up to three million passengers annually on its extensive sightseeing, entertainment and charter services. Based at Cherry Garden Pier in Bermondsey, our fleet ranges from RIBs, small single screw crafts to large vessels carrying up to 600 passengers.

The Company predominantly operates between Westminster Pier and The Thames Barrier, all year round.

The minimum qualification for our RIB Captains is RYA Advanced Powerboat, Commercially endorsed (with a PLA Local Knowledge Endorsement).

For all other vessels, a BML or equivalent qualification (preferably with large passenger endorsements) is required. In addition the Port of London authority requires that all Captains possess a LKE (Local Knowledge Endorsement). This qualification can be achieved whilst working with us and typically takes 6 months.

Candidates who do not possess LKE will serve as Mates until qualified and will be paid an hourly rate of 11.91.
Candidates possessing BML and LKE will serve as Captains and will be paid an hourly rate, between 12.56 to 17.16.

All captains are typically contracted to work 42.5 hours per week, with opportunities to work overtime.

Non BML qualified candidates are advised to contact the UK MCA in order to verify and convert their current qualifications to UK standard.

Should you think you are suitable candidate, please send your CV to
