Mediterranean summer 2017 and then Round the World early 2018

Crew wanted: Amateur crew
Vessel: Sailing Boat

johncat44: Just putting some feelers out to see what interest there would be. Will be planning a round the world trip starting from probably Portugal in Jan 2018. The proposed route will be Portugal - Canaries - Dominican Republic - A few other Caribbean Islands travelling South - Brazil - South Africa (Stopping off at Tristan Da Cuhna, which is where I am now) -Madagascar - Maldives - Thailand - Indonesia - New Zealand - Across Pacific taking in some Islands - Panama Canal - Then back across the Atlantic to UK/Portugal via Bermuda and Azores. I’ve just sailed across the Atlantic twice earlier this year to the West Indies, both crossing’s, nine days.
I’m planning to do this future trip, not non stop but taking in the places mentioned above, maybe around 8 - 12 months.
I’m possibly looking for very enthusiastic crew to do all or part of the voyage. I describe, Ocean Swift, my lightweight Catamaran as a very fast boat with an element of comfort. She easy does speeds of mid 20’s. She is fun to sail but is a very wet boat due to the speeds. She’s not for the faint hearted. Ocean Swift is a long way from being Gin palace.
Anyone interested please email me on johncat44@yahoo.co.uk as I have very limited internet here on Tristan Da Cuhna. I will be spending the Northern summer months sailing around the Med, Croatia, Greece etc. It may be a chance for anyone interested to possibly meet up. For more info on me and Ocean Swift please look at link. http://www.epoxycraft.com/

These positions may well suit an older experienced person or a young person wanting to gain experience and do some mile building. We will consider all applicants.
All travel expenses to and from the yacht are paid for (subject to prior agreement). All food and drinks (within reason) are provided together with crew uniform. A small living allowance will be paid. Please note, this is not a 'professional' position paying big money. It is more about enjoying and sharing a beautiful yacht on her summer cruise. But work is involved so it is not a 'jolly'. There will be lots of free time once we commence the cruise. However there will be much to do preparing the yacht prior to departure and this will involve many full days of work.

MarineConservation-Volunteeran: Working   on an expedition yacht  and volunteering to Conserve and Protect Marine Life Around the World;

We realise that our projects represent once in a lifetime experiences and at first they could seem like a wonderful way to do some travelling in tropical islands.  But our projects are purely for climate change work, conservation and sustainable development and we are looking for crew dedicated to what we do and why. Below we have described what all our team members need in order to join us on projects and we encourage you to pursue joining us, only if you are sure you match these criteria:

It is an essential requirement to be a committed conservationists or have a keen interest in helping others. This is our #1 essential requirement.
Some sailing ability or at least a keen interest.  We give lots of training so by the end of the trip you will be a good crew.
Maturity. We need you to have a high level of self awareness (you can be sure it will be tested) – that you balance being sensitive to your own needs so that you stay happy and enthusiastic, with the needs of others so that you can offer mutual support. We need you to know and use your strengths, and manage your weaknesses, including the ability to take feedback for development.  If you find this hard to do, this may not be for you..
An easy going attitude (you can be sure it will be tested). Are you really easy going? or does stuff “really bug you” If you sweat the small stuff, this is not for you! We like to get the job done really well and we like to have some fun too but conditions can be very difficult for those not used to working in developing countries or living in small spaces.
Responsibility. You need a strong sense of responsibility. The work can Responsibility. You need a strong sense of responsibility. The work can be tiring and with a boat load of kids on board in the communities some days it can be hard to complete work in a timely manner.  We undertake projects with a set of goals in mind and we need each team member to feel equally responsible for us achieving all our goals.
An interest and preferably experience in diving and snorkeling. For our marine jobs this is essential but everyone needs to be versitile and you may be asked to help out with marine surveys, so you should be enthusiastic and confident in the water.
What our volunteers have to say
"This experience with OW has been a huge eye opener for me on so many levels. I have learned so many things, and unlearned a bunch more, and I am infinitely grateful for all the lessons and experiences. I will forever remember this adventure with all of you, and can draw from it in so many aspects of my life. I have learned about personal space, about perseverance, about loving acceptance, about forgiveness. I have seen people and felt cultures I would have never encountered otherwise. I have learned languages and myths, and played with so many cool little ocean creatures and island children. This has given me direction in life (or other directions) and has put every part of my being to the test.Good luck in the future, Charlotte Leger, 2014"

Sail Cargo Expedition - Honduras to Azores

Crew wanted: Delivery Crew
Vessel: Tall Ship
Size:44 m
Location: Honduras
Destination: Portugal
Logged in: 53 minutes ago

Timbercoast: We provide wind-powered cargo shipping. Our 1920’s schooner AVONTUUR is sailing in European and Caribbean waters as a tramp cargo service. The AVONTUUR is the missing link between the sustainable producer and the conscientious consumer. The statistics are clear, the current 90,000 plus container ships are destroying our oceans and spewing toxins into our atmosphere. In order for this global dependency to change we believe there must be a collaborative and viable alternative solution.

There is a shared cost to this voyage which includes chef cooked meals, port dues and harbour costs. There's the opportunity to sail onward from Honduras to Germany. Inquire within.

Embark January 30th in Puerto Cortes, Honduras*
Disembark March 16th in Horta, Azores

*Weather dependant

Sailing the Peloponnese coast,Saronics & Cyclades from May- October 2017...

Crew wanted: Recreational Crew

twizzr: .

Come sailing the Peloponnese Saronic ,Cyclades with a chance of the Dodecanese. On a comfortable fast older style yacht that I have owned for 20 years .The boat can sleeps up to nine with two heads/showers . I am based in Greece, with easy access from Airport and Piraeus on ferry or flying dolphin.
.
Now that my wife and children no longer want to sail as much. I find myself with weeks free and was thinking of having 1'-2 or 3 people to join me for, one, two or three weeks at a time or longer if compatible ?.But no more than 4 at any time. Single women welcome but no romance wanted
.
Please note. I do not need crew to deliver the yacht to another place, as I have single handed sailed for years The yacht has been set up by me for single hand sailing that some will find different
This is more an opportunity for people to have an enjoyable holiday at the same time as sailing, or get more miles and experience at a fraction of the cost of chartering their own yacht .

Contributions 30 euro pd pp single cabin 25euro pd sharing ... there is a small cabin with cupboard and up and down berths for budget saling '20euro pd pp See Photos .......................................................................................................................................

There would be a additional cost for on board meals and diesel, port fees, laundry cleaning product, consumables etc: of around 10 euro pp pd .. . .................................................. This will not include shore based meals and drinks which are paid for by the person eating/drinking them.............. ( I have been know to steal some chips and buy a litre of wine )

As Skipper would be in charge of the day to day running of the yacht, however I would like all crew to have as much fun as possible whilst aboard . Managing day to day running of a yacht , provisioning, passage planning, weather forecasting ,anchoring. stern to mooring ,keeping the ship tidy, this would be a large part of this trip , rather than just sunbath.lol . A golden opportunity to enjoy sailing the Aegean in a relaxing manner, combining sight seeing the islands .....

Friends /crew
That would like sailing and have fun at the same time as making new friends, visiting new places. on an adventure aboard a sailing yacht around the Greek islands ..Any age/sex 30+, must be Financially sound and NON SMOKER............ NOT looking for any romance OR FREELOADERs..!

Most days on the water we will sail 20-60 miles and at the same time having a bit of fun fishing, snorkeling, swimming, dolphin and whale spotting and only drinking when tied up safe in port. (a very cold beer with lunch) otherwise a dry ship at sea, with ZERO tolerance for drugs..

I dont think I have hidden anything ? and want to be completely OPEN about things on board .

Note. As Skipper i will try and accommodate all ideas and suggestions on board, but my word will be final. ..Santorini at the height of the Meltemi will be low on the list of priorities.unless using the ferry from Naxos or Ios .

Please remember this is not a Hire, Charter or School boat , you will be my personal internet friends and guests on board, as I would like good company when sailing .

I shall advise you to have your own Travel/accident insurance for the duration of your time in Greece/Turkey The yacht is insured.however this request is for your personal safety for your time on board and when away from the yacht. This is important ! .......................................................................................................................................
By you responding to this opportunity, I will understand you accept these terms .

pps sometimes I have a small friendly dog on board,

Cheers bob

Jmvcapt1: My name is Captain Jason. During the period from May till October I captain my own 70-foot sailing yacht around the Greek islands. If you're interested, the best way for me to communicate would be through my US cell phone so that I can fill you in on any possible questions that you may have. my preference is to have a face to face interview before hand so if you leave near North Carolina US please don't hasitate to contact me at 828-461-8110.

I have been sailing all my life. The past 20 years I have been in Europe during the summers and typically I do between 40 and 90 ports per summer season. I have 2 Atlantic crossings and the total accumulated mileage of over 200,000 nautical miles. I have trained 38 crew members where quite a few have become professional captains. My goals in life are to enjoy every moment with principles like honesty and the objective is to have clean fun. I have excellent references from past crew members and guests and I'm looking forward once more to working with a person that would be open-minded, good-natured, honest, and eager to learn and have fun.

A journey in the Vikings' home waters

Crew wanted: Amateur crew
Vessel: Sailing Boat
Size:10 m
Location: Sweden
Destination: Finland
Logged in: 2 hours ago

Cap_Martin: It would be nice to have some company onboard, a second hand. So I’m interested in contact with sailors.
Guess you are ´+50, women or man, non smoker please.
Not couples, charter tourists, freeloaders, opportunity-, adventure-, cheap holiday hunters, dreamers or youngsters.
Prefer crew which can be onboard for a whole voyage/ journey or at least 3 weeks or more. There are more possibilities for embarking/ disembarking.
You need to have some recent experience from sailing and life onboard. If you have any maritime education or training is definitely an advantage.

(PLEASE READ ALL TEXT, before you think of writing.
If you don't present yourself with a face photo, you can just forget.

I consider sailing as a fantastic free way of travelling.

I haven't yet decided where to sail the summer season 2017.
But most likely it will be sailing in the beautiful Baltic Sea, visiting places in, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Russia etc.
May be I'll want to realize a sailing to the Saima channel and lake system in Finland.
2½ month duration, starting June 2017.

I'm interested in sailing, meeting people, local food, wine, beer, culture, sightseeing, history, language, nature, relaxing, talking, listening peoples stories, laughing, enjoying, etc.

I’m an experienced and skilled sailor, including at least 5000 M single handed sailing.
I’m a cool and calm person, with a lot of humour, doing clever sailing, no racing or weather gambling.
On board we can speak Danish, Swedish, English, German, or any mix of those.

The sailing is a NON commercial amateur friendship sailing. Sharing and cooperation is a keyword for all doings onboard, all in a good spirit.
Roles to share: Planning, deckhand, helmsman, navigation, mooring, cooking, dishing, stow-away, outlook, watch, cleaning, trimming, setting sails, etc.,
The boat is a 32 foot slope, well maintained, rich equipped for safe and comfortable sailing.

Economic conditions are generally as follows:
You must pay your own travel expenses to / back from the boat.
Onboard you must pay for your berth and a share of the cost of food, port fees and diesel.
All expenses on land, are your own expenses.
I pay all costs to make the boat ready to sail, maintenance, repair and equipment, and my share of other expenses.

Costs incurred on the economic level, but not low budget. A little luxury is good.

Interested??
Just write me a PM.
Remember to tell why you would like to sail, your expectations, and how you think you can contribute to making it a good journey/voyage.
Then we take it from there.
