SeadogRennie: With over 75000 + sea miles and a passion for the ocean and sea life, it's worth opening and reading the rest of my profile.

I have been living on the west coast of Scotland since I was 16. I started working as a chef with fresh ingredients, this was seasonal work and I worked my way up to head chef of several restaurants and hotels. During the winter I worked on a creel Fishing boat catching Lobster, crab, prawns and velvet crab, This was a pattern for some years until I became skipper for which i had to have Seafish qualifications. These don't cross over with RYA.

I have worked commercially as a Scallop and shellfish diver, which also gave me the ability to make repairs and do regular maintenance checks, freeing any obstructions from the prop whilst out at sea.

I have sailed most of the West Coast of Scotland on Fishing boats and yachts, I have Sailed around the North island of NZ in 2000 on private yacht for 3 months. In 2002 I sailed from Djibouti to Turkey sailing to Eritrea, Sudan, Egypt and across the Med.

In 2015 I sailed on a tall ship as engineer/crewman/chef for paying customers. This was from West Scotland, to Fowey, across to Northern Spain, stopping at various ports before heading to Cadiz (southern Spain) to spend 1 month doing boat maintenance. I then sailed onto the Canaries to charter for paying customers.

The Skills and Qualifications section bellow are limited as Seafish/fisherman Qualifications are not included. I am a very resourceful individual and am happy to work alone and have proven I can lead a team well, especially under pressure both in a kitchen and on a boat. I have given you an Idea of the experience and knowledge I have gained over the past 22 years, something I believe is far more valuable than a piece of paper that doesn't show the depth of knowledge, initiative, quick response times and thinking needed with a job at sea, especially when saving a boat at sea in hurricane force+ conditions.

I am a keen environmentalist and have completed a course in Marine Mammal Observation. I am always learning about our environment.

I come from a family that has a vast knowledge of sailing as they went on the Blue Water Rally from 1998-2002 (round the world sailing) for which I flew out and helped them sail and maintain the boat. They returned to Britain and now have the leading ecology company in the UK.

I have helped people to understand and become competent in most of the jobs that I have done. I have took regular night watches on yachts and the tall ship. I am very physically fit with a lot of stamina. I am a father of 1 and she is now at an age that I can work away.
If there is anything else that you wish to know, please ask.

Vega: I am looking for a position as deckhand, delivery or racing crew on a classic sailing vessel where I can include my profound traditional sailing skills. Those I required being Captain of Vega for the last 5 years doing my own charter business ( and running the boat alone. I got trained sailing, seamanship and maintenance from my father, the original owner of Vega over 50 years. It is the place where I spent my youth and crewed as a young adult for many years. The future of Vega is not clear, mine will be the way to be a captain.
I am willing to start from scratch and learn from others, as I am aware of the different operating and maneuvering of each sailing yacht. Vega is operated completely manual without any electronic assistance apart from a handheld GPS. I would also be very interested in ocean racing crossing the roaring forties.

I adore the sea, I live for pefect sailing maneuvers without engin until anchoring, I am an explorer and a good sailor.

Opensea: My wife Nia and I have been sailing together as a team for 6 year. We have a passion for sailing, photography, and food. We are currently working for an amazing charter company but have gaps in our schedule for freelancing. We have sailed across the Pacific on our own boat on our 5 year sabbatical. We also have extensive sea miles with large vessels as well. We create the highest level of service and safety to our clients.. We both have a MCA yachtmaster 200gt that is commercially endorsed and Nia is a Licensed, award winning chef who is passionate about food and presentation. She won the USVI boat show culinary competition in 2015 and won the BVI boat show 2016 prestigious best entree' for boats over 60 feet and the best desert over 60 ft. 2016. We know what its like to own a boat, and with that experience we have a sense of ownership, maintenance, and safety to all the boats we step on board. I am extremely proficient in diesel maintenance and troubleshooting as well as rigging and splicing experience. We can provide a trove of references of very reputable people in the industry and abroad and from current employers. For US flagged boats I have my USCG 100 unlimited ticket as well. Before sending me a message please don't ask if I can dock you boat. I can dock your boat. Trust me. No insurance claims ever and especially with docking. Our main company has some of the most difficult spots in the Caribbean to dock. If can be done it will be done you're in good hands with us!

dali2501: With a genuine love of the sea, I have built and established my career from the ground up. Starting in 2002 and working as Captain/Skipper on a range of sailing/motor yachts from 15 to 22 meters. Working on my own and serving as a Captain/Skipper of various vessels, has provided me with in-depth knowledge of every aspect of my work. Serving on superyachts as a deckhand/ bosun position has widened my aspect of work.
This vast experience together with my engineering skills and being proficient in all areas of navigation, safety, meteorology, and more, has brought me to my current role. I want to move on and secure a job as a captain on boats up to 35 meters. My natural leadership skills and calm controlled personality makes me an excellent seaman and an exemplary leader.
