Atlantic Crossing Wanted :) :)

ziggyst: Hi,

I'm looking to cross the atlantic this winter season, I'm easy to get along with and travel a lot, very handy with languages :)

I like getting away in nature away from everything, longboarding, sailing, adventure, travel, photography etc.

My job for the last few years was with analytical chemistry equipment, keeping them running and repairing them so I guess some of that would transfer to a boat ;) I'm a pretty handy seaman anyway as I spent a lot of time in dinghies and doing some races as a kid.

25yo guy, long hair, cat lover, scientist, polyglot and globo-hobo type

So come on, get me on board, I'm happy to contribute to costs and as I'm currently in Spain I Will fly out to meet you anywhere on the East Atlantic Coast :) :)

Happy sailing :)

Young Sailor Seeking Adventure & Experience

Position (1st): Amateur crew
Position (2nd): Competent Crew
Age: 22
Nationality: United States
Location: United States

KneelHate: Young, responsible guy looking for another good journey and an even better story (or two!) Planning on being in Europe after May 16. Looking to use sailing to enhance my experience. Currently have one 2+ week passage under my belt: A mixture of sailing and motoring from Southern Mexico up to Los Angeles, California. I can keep a watch and have a beginner's understanding of sailing. I'm an Eagle Scout and tend to pick things up rather quickly. I do have countless hours of hands-on experience with navigation, knots, and cooking. I've also been trained in Wilderness First Aid & Response (for when help is 1+ hours away) and in Intermediate CPR. Skills I hope to not use, but are glad to have when we're in need. I'm pretty happy-go-lucky and get along with just about everyone. Flexible schedule as well. Let's sail!

Love ocean: We are strong, creative and loving the ocean people. When we both became SCUBA Instructors we discovered an enormous amount of passion towards teaching diving, surfing and other water sports because that’s the best way to share knowledge, experience, and provide the space for people to really enjoy themselves... That also gives us this unique opportunity to open peoples hearts and minds to the boundless beauty hidden underwater. We love surfing more than anything and no matter what we do we're trying to live the best life one can come up with.
Last few years 've been traveling and working around the world and we got a dream to get an ocean cat and go live in the South Pacific, surf beautiful waves, eat the best seafood we can catch freediving and create... music, all sorts of art, documentaries about people on our planet, underwater life and adventures. There is a huge amount of information we need to download into our heads together with getting into more sailing and the ocean life.
We find working on yachts makes our dream bigger and closer because the more and harder we work (in a combination with desire to grow, to learn everything and inspiration) the more valuable and diverse our experiences are. We need to advance our career towards becoming pros in the art of sailing.

PSJ999: I am getting back into saling after a long break. I am married with two adult children and live in Sydney Australia.

Many years ago now (when I was in my 20s) I did a lot of sailing in Ocean Races on the East Coast of Australia then work and family commitments got in the way.

Racing history includes:
South Solitary Island race -460nm
Pittwater Coffs 226nm
1982 Sydney Hobart 640nm
1983 Sydney Hobart (3rd overall)
1984 Sydney Hobart (1st overall)
1985 Sydney Hobart
1986 Sydney Hobart
1988 Sydney Hobart
1994 Sydney Hobart
Sydney Mooloolaba Race 470nm
Sydney Southport Race -384nm
1993 Fastnet Race 608nm
Plus numerous short offshore and 90nm overnight races.

Yacht deliveries
Hobart - Melbourne
Hobart - Sydney (x2)

I kept in contact with boats and sailing with a small fishing boat for many years (hold NSW power boat licence) and kiteboarding. More recently I have been doing some day cruising in Sydney on a Hanse 415.

I want to get back into sailing and would enjoy the occasional regatta, delivery trips or ocean passage
