About the Yacht, Usage & Main User

• Crew area: 1 cabin with bunk bed + 1 cabin with single bed

• Cruising area: Mainly Greece, occasionally Turkey, Italy, Croatia etc.
• Season: Yacht remains in Europe. Season usually runs from late March until end of November.
• Average: 12–18 weeks of yacht usage per year (often long weekends or 7–12 day trips; in summer
usually one longer trip of 3–5 weeks).
• Main user’s experience: Over 29 years of sailing, approx. 24,000 nautical miles. The yacht has
cruised many European countries, crossed the Atlantic, and passed through the Panama Canal into
the Pacific.

Current Crew Member
• There is a permanent or seasonal deckhand on board.
• Responsibilities of the deckhand include:
– Interior cleaning, yacht presentation, and service.
– Assisting the Master Crew Member on deck with exterior cleaning and maintenance.
– Supporting the Master Crew Member in all tasks and daily yacht operations.
Responsibilities (of the new Crew Member)
• Assist the main user of the yacht, who is the Captain, during mooring, sailing operations, and
maneuvers.
• Ensure overall safety on board.
• In the main user’s absence or in case of emergency: independently and safely operate the yacht
under sail and engine.
• Monitor, maintain, and repair all technical systems on board (generators, Volvo Penta engines,
electrical systems, pumps, air conditioning, navigation & safety equipment).
• Maintain sailing systems (rigging, winches, sails, hydraulics).
• Carry out installations and repair works.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems.
• Keep technical documentation and report potential issues.
• Cooperate with external specialists and supervise shipyard periods, including dry-docking.
• Lead, train, and supervise the deckhand.
• Ensure the yacht always shines in immaculate condition – including hull, waterline, and even the
underwater hull.
• Care for the full teak deck, including cleaning, sealing, and long-term preservation.
• Coordinate external service providers and craftsmen, incl. scheduling, quality control, and cost
supervision.
• Work independently with high responsibility.
• Direct reporting line to the main user of the yacht and the Yacht Manager.
• The Yacht Manager is based in Greece and provides strong technical support (local contacts, spare
parts, coordination).
• Transparent reporting and cooperation in all operational and technical matters.
• Willingness to assist in all areas whenever help is required – beyond core duties.
Requirements
• Age: approx. 21–35 years
• Valid nautical license enabling safe operation of a 19m / 10m beam sailing catamaran (STCW or
equivalent).
• Several years of experience as Engineer or Chief Mate on sailing yachts or similar vessels.
• Strong knowledge of mechanics, electrics, maritime systems, and sailing equipment.
• Proven experience in teak deck maintenance and sealing.
• High standards of cleanliness and yacht presentation – the catamaran must always look like new.
• Ability to lead, train, and supervise other crew members and take responsibility.
• Hands-on ability to carry out technical repairs independently and supervise larger projects.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Polite, well-groomed, and well-organised personality.
• Willingness to travel internationally (mainly Mediterranean).
• Flexibility and team spirit: willingness to work hands-on wherever help is needed.
• Long-term commitment – not a seasonal role.
