Captain - Temporary / Seasonal - Portugal

We are looking for 1-2 experiences sailors to join us at the start of our journey. We are Jeroen and Seraina and we just finished a full time 1 year refit of our one off-steel sailboat.
We have the dayskipper (SBF See/Binnen) and some experience but not that much yet. Around middle of march we want to start out travel and we will head to the Med. For the beginning we want to take experienced people along that can be in the role as captain or first mate from wich we can learn and feel safer. We are very eager to learn, open and enthusiastic people.

The idea is to leave around middle of march (weekend of 14/15). Of course we have to look at the weather and see if it is possible.
The final destination will be Ibiza /Formentera where we would like to be latest 9. April. Which leaves us plenty of time...
We would like to stop along the way, we are aware that there are not so many possibilities always to anchor but we would prefer anchoring as much as the conditions allow it.

Requirement:
- RYA Yachtmaster or similar qualification (Hochseeschein, ...)
- lot of sailing experience, also with larger boats (ours is 15m)
- a passion for adventure and good vibes ;)

What we offer
- your own spacious cabin + own bathroom
- good food and drinks
- big spacious boat, real "kitchen", 2 workshops, big living room, big outside chilling space etc.
- an amazing experience being part of Peperoni's very first miles under sail.
Yep, the boat looks like a Peperoni (how we call in switzerland a "Pepper".

Important notes
- We are anchored in the beautiful Algarve, Portugal
- out boat is very well upgraded, we invested in loads of quality new navigational electronics, solar roof with Victron set up, new rigging, redone whole hull inside out etc... it's all safe and ready for the trip.

We are very open towards ideas and we would love to have a chat with you if you are interested!
Feel free to ask or question anything.

Cheers and ahoy

  • Boat descriptionOur sailing vessel “Peperoni” is a one-off steel bilge keel yacht built in 2005 by Mike Blake in England. It was designed and constructed to be lived on comfortably while being capable of reaching anywhere in the world. She measures 15 meters in length and 5 meters in width. At the bow, there are two spacious cabins, each with a bunk bed, a large closet, and a window that can also serve as an easy exit. Adjacent to these cabins is a large bathroom with a shower. Moving aft, you’ll find a generous living area featuring a dining table for around 10 people, a navigation station, and even an office/creative workspace. The separate kitchen is well-equipped with four stoves, a large refrigerator, a microwave/oven/air fryer, and our favorite appliance — the Thermomix. There are two workshops on board: one converted from a former bathroom into a workshop and storage space, and another larger one along the gangway, complete with a workbench and a large freezer. At the stern lies the master suite, offering a full-sized double bed, a spacious bathroom with a shower, plenty of storage, and beautiful views. On deck, there’s a lot of space for sitting, working, relaxing... A custom-built solar roof structure (crafted by Jeroen, professional welder) supports six solar panels, providing up to 2700 W of power — enough to live fully off-grid on green energy. For backup, we also carry a large generator. Safety: We’ve made big investments in safety and navigation equipment: everything has been completely updated, including a new VHF, chartplotter, windvane, antenna, radar, and more — all high-quality gear from B&G. We also maintain a fully serviced 8-person offshore liferaft and have a lot of life vests and safety equipment aboard. Safety is a top priority for us. We also have Starlink aboard with which you can connect yourself when we turn it on.
