Looking for a like minded companion to share life at sea aboard a Lagoon 42. Easygoing, respectful, and open to enjoying the journey together sailing, exploring, and taking things as they come.
Here’s the plan I have in mind.
We’ll be picking up the boat from the Lagoon factory in Les Sables-d’Olonne, in northern France, around the second week of June. We’ll spend the first two weeks there getting everything ready and upgrading the boat for our journey a fresh start, fully prepared for life onboard.
After that, we’ll begin sailing south. I’ve arranged for a lovely couple, both professional sailing instructors, to join us for this leg. They’ll be onboard as we sail through Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, and along the southern coast toward the Mediterranean. It will be about a 2,000-mile journey, and during that time we’ll receive hands-on training so by the end, we’ll be confident and capable sailors
Once they leave, we’ll continue at our own pace, heading further south and east exploring Corsica, Sardinia, southern Italy, the Adriatic Sea, the Ionian Islands like Corfu and Kefalonia, and eventually Montenegro.
As for me, I grew up spending summers on boats with my family, so the sea has always been part of my life. Last year, I completed a long cruise from the United Kingdom to Montenegro with my current boat, which was an incredible experience.
When we reach Montenegro, the next step will be preparing for an ocean crossing and then continuing to explore the rest of the world.
What I’m really looking for is a companion someone who loves the sea, values freedom, and dreams of discovering the world by boat. A partner to share this journey, the adventures, and the unforgettable moments along the way.
