Location: Canary Islands, Morocco, Cape Verde, West Africa, Atlantic Crossing to Brazil
Plan: Starting from Tenerife to Fuerteventura and then Lanzarote, Morocco, Cape Verde, Senegal, Gambia and the Atlantic Crossing to Brazil
My sailing experience: Baltic Sea, North Sea, Mediterranean, Eastern Atlantic, one Atlantic crossing (~12,000 nautical miles)
Hey there
I’m Nils, 41, originally from Berlin-Kreuzberg, working as a freelance videographer.
For the past six months, I’ve been living aboard my boat Livity, and I plan to continue this lifestyle for the next few years. I sailed down from the Baltic to the Canary Islands with different crew members and have been here for about a month now.
Before heading further south to Cape Verde and West Africa next winter I want to explore Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and Morocco.
I’m not interested in rushing along a fixed schedule. For me, it’s about truly living along the way: getting to know places and people, and sometimes staying longer where it feels right.
Sailing means freedom to me - feeling the wind, reconnecting with yourself, leaving the noise of civilization behind, living more sustainably, falling asleep under the stars, and jumping into the ocean first thing in the morning.
I enjoy diving and windsurfing, and on this journey I’d also like to learn freediving and kitesurfing. I appreciate quiet anchorages just as much as lively places - markets, good food, music, and occasionally a long night out.
As a videographer, I plan to create films about places, people, food, music and environmental topics like forest and ocean conservation. I’d also love to collaborate with local NGOs along the way.
What matters most to me on board is a relaxed and respectful atmosphere, where everyone feels comfortable and decisions are made together.
I’m looking for crew who love nature and the sea, are curious about different cultures, and enjoy being active outdoors. Sailing experience is great but not required - what matters more is openness, a sense of humor, love for nature, music, willingness to learn, and joy in the journey.
Remote work is possible via Starlink.
Routes and timing are flexible.
