The boat is an expedition style 57ft alloy sailing catamaran built in Hamburg. Strong, light, stable and capable with loads of deck space. we usually sail around 8-10knots. Being 32 ft wide, we don't get cramped up together confined to the cockpit. We find places to sprawl out on deck, to soak up the sun and to connect with the sea and our destinations. If you're a little shy to discover your sealegs or are worried your introversion might dampen your experience on a boat full of people, don't worry. The boat is very stable (sea sickness is far less likely, though not impossible) and given the size of the vessel you can always find a quiet place to sit and reflect on your own if you need a break away from the group.
Onboard we are a community taking care of each other and the boat. We take turns preparing delicious meals, we play games, listen to music, explore, hike, enjoy beach days, snorkel, spearfish, connect with locals, connect with other sailors, bbq, watch movies under the stars, learn about sailing and life at sea...most importantly we enjoy the company of those onboard, we philosophize on life, have open and honest discussions, all while sharing the moments together. Half the beauty of the journey is the connections we forge that continue in life beyond the boat.
Your captain is a 40yo Canadian and your first mate is a 40yo South African from Cape Town. The two met each other 9 years ago while sail training in the RYA program in Cape Town. Both have their RYA Yachtmaster Ocean CoC.
A contribution is required. This covers food, water, starlink, fuel, checkin/out fees, agent fees etc...
Onboard there are 4 single berths and 3 double berths for couples or close friends who don't mind sharing.
