Barcelona - Cadiz
Hi sailors,
Starting somewhere early October, I have the pleasure of setting sail towards the Canary Islands.
The first leg of this trip is Barcelona to Gibraltar, more specifically La Linea or Cadiz (depending on weather and other factors).
According to how much SW we get in the med, we'll do our best to make southing whenever the weather permits, ideally under sail.
Currently I have 3 double cabins available for the trip.
Ideally I'd love to welcome people onboard that have passion for sailing, salty water, nature, sports, good music, tasty food, and good team players.
Experience is not required, I enjoy teaching people how to be safe onboard and enjoy sailing. An easygoing, friendly, and respectful crew! But a bit of experience is also welcome.
A bit about the vessel:
She is a First 47.7, a legendary Bruce Farr design which to this day still wins regattas.
Set up for cruising, she boasts electric winches, an offshore sail inventory, water maker, extensive safety equipment, and up to date maintenance. All while keeping integral comfort with 4 double cabins, two heads, an extensive galley, among other things.
I have owner her since 2023, and have logged around 20,000nm together since then. Two Atlantic crossings and various seasons in the med and Caribbean.
End of November we cross the Atlantic to commence our Circumnavigation.
A bit about me:
I've been sailing from a young age, I like surfing and other watersports (especially sailing ;)) and have a passion for the deep blue. I speak fluent English, Spanish, and Dutch, mainly sail in English.
I have worked as skipper for the past 6 years, I hold my yachtmaster offshore CE and am preparing for the Ocean too.
Preferably no smoking onboard, a sunset beer/wine is welcome, no drugs onboard.
This is a good mile building opportunity for people interested in gaining experience, or for example looking to cross the Atlantic in november and wanting to show they have some solo night watch experience.
Does this ring your bell?
Let's get in touch.
Fair winds,
Junior

Sailing legends in the making….
I had the unbelievable good fortune to join la Luna from Spain to the canaries. The boat is huge, I had a cabin to myself and my own heads, with warm water and a seated shower. The provisioning was excellent, a cupboard of sweets and always plenty fresh fruit for night watch. At the time we ran 2hrs on 4off through the night, 3hrs on 6off through daylight. Which actually works really well , I was surprised I think I prefer it to the 4on, because everyone takes a load on the difficult watches, everyone experiences the good sailing moments and 2 hours on hand steering goes quick. You also get to see all the crew regularly. This was an early shakedown run, so we had great opportunity to try lots of different sail plans and rigging which was brilliant, but most most importantly is the crew. The guys let me have a huge input and equal input into nearly every decision, I felt myself not only heard, but part of the process. I was made at home from the first day.
