72Ft Custom Cutter Expedition Sailboat- Polar Circumnavigation- Seeking Long Term Crew
Hello Everyone
Due to other crew leaving for medical reasons, we are seeking long term crew that wish to get a circumnavigation under their belt.
This is a slow sailboat so crossings will take longer but its heavy so acts like a cruise ship under heavy weather and has 2 circumnavigations already done so hopefully, you with us is this ship's 3rd time.
Offshore passage experience is expected from crew members coming on board, less experienced sailors are ok, but we want people who know what real offshore conditions are like and are ok with dealing with bad weather with long crossings in mind.
This is unpaid Crew, Travel costs are yours so only other costs on your end are shared food bill/visa fees if going ashore and your time, boat expenses are covered by us. Our boat is designed around living on the hook, so marina stays will be far and few between. We have a 15ft aluminum rib tender for ship to shore.
Crew expectation is doing watches and sharing the workload with normal crossings, anything unknown or uncomfortable with can be taught as long as you are willing to learn. Most of the time we will be on anchor moving to other anchor spots within good weather windows, were retired so no need to rush.
The boat will be leaving in mid-October from Port Canaveral to head north to stay cool, then coming back to Florida for final prep in December, leaving February at the latest for the circumnavigation.
This gives us and you plenty of time to make sure you are able/willing and we work well together for the big trip ahead. We have space currently for 5-6 crew aboard with a lot of creature comforts.
If i missed anything, please ask otherwise please read the profile most of the info for the boat should be on it. Thanks for your time
