Going nowhere. Looking for help.

I don’t know where I’m going and I’d like some help getting there.

I’m going to be out and about around Belize in November and then onwards through May. I’d like to explore Belize some more but it’s a bit difficult with a 7’ draft in and about the world’s second largest barrier reef. It would be nice to have someone help find the way into an anchorage.

I’m also learning to wing foil and I’m almost at the stage where I can get up wind and back to my boat on my own. I can’t keep asking neighbours to chase me around in a dinghy for a couple of hours. It would be nice to have someone onboard to help and share the board time with.

The boat is an Oyster 435 that’s well maintained. She sails beautifully and is very comfortable. Crew would have the V berth and there’s a small sea berth too. I’ve been sailing around the Caribbean for the past 6 years and came to this side this year.

The offer is completely open, meaning I don’t know where or when I’ll be. Potentially, the itinerary will be Belize, Cuba, Caymans, Roatan, the Colombian islands, Costa Rica, Panama - that general area.

During your stay, there’s no guarantee of what we’ll be doing. We could be making a passage, anchoring, foiling, exploring the local area, at a marina, day hopping, who knows and no guarantees.

I would ask for sharing the expense of consumables and operations. No smoking, no pets (I have a cat), no drugs, no sketchy background, no vegans. It would be helpful if you know you don’t get seasick.

You should also be able to help with cooking and cleaning. You should enjoy a normal degree of personal hygiene. You should definitely expect to help sail, motor, anchor, etc.

If this sounds like fun, let’s talk.

Excellent skipper

I recently sailed 1300 miles with Captain Tim Lewis on his beautiful oyster 435. We spent approximately five weeks sailing from Salinas Puerto Rico to Placentia Belize. We encountered a variety of sailing conditions and the boat and boat and Tim handled every challenge and weather condition with thoughtful decisions that were based upon research, the input from our buddy boats, and data that he downloaded. While it was my first Long Bluewater sailing adventure I felt very comfortable and safe on board with Tim. I would highly recommend Captain Tim Lewis and his sailboat Euphoria Too, to anybody looking for a wonderful adventure

Excellent Captain & Oyster Yacht

5

I sailed from Martinique to Carriacou on Tim’s well equipped Oyster yacht, a distance of 150nm for one month. He was willing to take on an extra crew member at short notice and I was very grateful for that. Tim is a very laid-back person who has the knowledge and skills for any crew member to feel perfectly safe on board. He does not take risks and is well aware of the weather, changing cloud patterns and prepares well in advance. When a storm was heading to Carriacou he took the trouble to advise fellow sailors of advanced preparation issues for their yachts. We also had an overnight anchor watch. I would highly recommend Tim to any crew person looking for an excellent safe boat and well qualified Captain.
