From Scilly to Greece, and beyond!
⛵ Sailing from Scilly, Italy → to Greece | Departing around 12th October
Hey! We’re Matt and Zak, a sailing couple living aboard our 44ft Seafinn, Two Tails, with our two cats, Max and George. ??
We’re currently making our way through the Med and will be departing from Scilly, southern Italy, around 12th October, heading east towards Greece for the winter.
We have two spare cabins and would love to find some like-minded people to share part of the journey with us.
This isn’t a charter or a paid crew position — Two Tails is our home, and finding the right people and the right vibe is really important to us. We’re looking for people who want to share the experience, make some good memories, and become part of the little crew for a while.
Life onboard is pretty relaxed. We love swimming, diving, fishing, exploring ashore, cooking, having a few drinks together, and generally taking things at a slower pace. We’re not interested in rushing from A to B just to tick miles off the logbook. We’ll stop and explore places along the way and see where the weather and the adventure take us.
We work remotely from the boat and have Starlink onboard, so working remotely is absolutely possible for you too if you need!
? Who we’re looking for
• Friendly, relaxed people with a good sense of humour
• Independent and easy-going, but happy to get involved with boat life
• People who enjoy good conversation, exploring, swimming, cooking, sailing and the occasional beer/wine ?
• No sailing experience necessary — we’re happy to teach
• Someone who understands that living on a boat means sharing space, helping out and occasionally getting a little wet!
• And ideally… not allergic to cats ?
We’re much more interested in personality and compatibility than sailing experience. If we get along, enjoy each other’s company and everyone pitches in, that’s what makes a good passage.
? Costs
This isn’t a charter, so there are no set fees or daily rates.
You’d simply cover your own travel to/from the boat and contribute towards shared food, fuel and marina costs. We mostly anchor and sail where possible, so we keep things fairly simple and cheap. Boat and operational costs fully covered by us. The marina caveat is that we will cover it fully if we NEED to go to escape bad weather, shared if we are using a marina purely recreationally to spend a night in town and do land people stuff!
? The journey
We’re aiming to leave Scilla around 12th October, heading towards Greece over the following weeks. Exact timings and route will depend on weather and conditions, so there will be plenty of flexibility along the way.
You don’t necessarily need to commit to the whole journey — we’re happy to have people join for different legs.
