1. Watch keeping officer and 1st mate
OR
Officer trainee - a highly experienced competent crew ready to make the move to captain and ready to begin to take formal steps and undergo formal training to become a watchkeeper.
2. Rating serving as competent crew/cook/steward/deckhand or enthusiastic hardworking and flexible novice.
Both positions will aboard during fall 2026 and/or winter 2026/2027.
Tentative schedule:
October - Norfolk Virginia, preparation
November - Transit to Charleston South Carolina, oreparation
December- transit to Florida and the Bahamas, refit and final preparations
January to March - Caribbean
Duties for watch keeper/officer trainee
• Day and night watchkeeping
• Shared operational duties under authority of Capt.
• Enthusiast learner and teacher
• All deck duties
• General deck duties and routine maintenance
• Basic diesel/systems awareness
• Day and night transits
• Developing leadership skills
• Developing strong communication skills
• Demonstrated followership skills and respect for authority
Duties for Rating competent crew/cook/steward/deckhand
• Enthusiast learner
• Flexibility to perform wide range of duties
• Consistent capability to follow orders and respect authority
Requirements
• Good spoken English or Spanish
• Calm, reliable, team-oriented
• Valid passport and ability to obtain U.S. visa
• Possible offshore legs (Bahamas ?)

• Uncompensated, seeking recreational cruiser
