Looking for a Novice Crew position
Hi All,
I’ve recently returned in June 2025 from a sailing experience in the Mediterranean, crewing on a catamaran, and really enjoyed being part of a functioning team on board. I particularly liked night sailing, learning the navigational systems, and gaining exposure to different anchoring techniques—whether in marinas or on moorings and buoys.
I’ve also crewed in a handful of races on Sydney Harbour and in Gosford, as well as several one-week sailing trips both in Australia and overseas. I’m very aware there’s always more to learn, and I don’t come with an ego—just a solid base of experience, good awareness on deck, and a willingness to listen, follow instructions, and do things the skipper’s way.
My first sailing experience was a day of racing on Sydney Harbour with no prior knowledge at all, filling in as crew when the local sailing club needed hands. I loved the teamwork and problem-solving aspect of it, and that interest has continued through trips in the Whitsundays, Asia, the Greek Islands, the Amalfi Coast, and the Turkish Riviera. I enjoy contributing where needed, being dependable on watch, and supporting the overall rhythm of life on board rather than trying to “prove” anything.
I come in tow with my partner who has limited sailing experience but brings a great attitude: adventurous, fit, calm, quick to learn, and very comfortable taking direction attitude.. Awe are happy starting from the basics and contributing in any way that’s helpful to the boat and crew.
We’re both easygoing, respectful of onboard dynamics, and understand that safety, communication, and teamwork come first. If you’re planning something around late 2026 and are looking for reliable, low-drama crew, we would love to connect.
Cheers,
Michelle
