Easy-going Irishman Looking To Get Back To The Ocean
Hi there,
My name is Philip — I’m a 28-year-old Irishman looking to join a boat/crew from September 2025 onwards, ideally for 3–4 weeks as a sailing adventure and break from work. I’m open to joining anywhere in Europe or South America.
That said, I also have flexibility: if the boat has a reliable internet connection and the setup is suitable for me to work remotely (laptop-based, full-time online job), I’d be open to joining a crew sooner and for a much longer period of time. While I need to be available online Monday to Friday, 9am–5:30pm UTC, I don’t need to be glued to the screen the whole time, and outside of work hours I’m fully engaged and ready to contribute.
In terms of experience, I sailed dinghies and catamarans in my teens, and I’m now keen to deepen my sailing skills. I’m a fast learner and always eager to get involved in all aspects of life on board. My strongest contribution to the crew is probably my cooking, but I’m comfortable turning my hand to most tasks — I’d call myself a generalist and a hard worker, not fazed by sea sickness or long days.
Outside of sailing, I’m pretty active — into hiking, watersports, and general adventuring. I’m not a big drinker, but I enjoy a drink when the mood is right.
As for personality: I’d describe myself as easy-going, respectful, open-minded, reliable, inquisitive, and cheekily friendly — with famously questionable fashion sense. I’m just chill in general and happy to enjoy either a laid-back sail or something a bit more intense.
I’d love to chat more to see if I might be a good fit for your crew. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best,
Philip
