Looking for a Deckhand or Deck/dive instructor or Deck/stew
Hi,
My name is Océane, I am a French woman based in the Caribbean planning to cross the Atlantic at the beginning of May but can be available ASAP if needed. I am looking for a position as a deckhand aboard a yacht, where I can apply my skills while growing within the industry.
With a strong background in the maritime industry, I have spent over seven years working as a scuba diving instructor in various high-end and remote locations. This experience has strengthened my adaptability, teamwork, and sense of responsibility.
Beyond my diving expertise, I also have personal experience handling water toys such as jet skis, wakeboards, inflatable buoys, snorkeling, freediving, and some fishing.
Additionally, I have been driving during a full year an 8m RIB, regularly transporting up to 12 passengers, which has strengthened my boat handling skills.
I used to work in my family business as a hostess in a caterer when I was younger. Discretion & professionalism, teamwork and service are the major assets I acquired which I think are essential in yachting.
To transition into the yachting industry, I have been sailing around the Caribbean sea on my family 40ft Catamaran since last June 2024, giving me hands-on experience with onboard life and daily operations such as assisting the captain when docking, anchoring, night watching, basic cleaning of the boat, hull cleaning, assisting underwater propeller maintenance and basic help with sailing. I have done approximately 2000+ miles so far.
With a naturally cheerful and positive attitude, I adapt quickly to new situations and respect and value the expertise of my teammates. I am very motivated and ready to bring my enthusiasm and work ethic to a professional crew.
