Dear Captain, I'm looking for a Stewardess/deckhand position with my partner
After setting sail from the Wild Coast of South Africa, I crossed the South Atlantic, passed through the Panama Canal, and continued across the Pacific to French Polynesia aboard a 15m catamaran. Life onboard demanded focus, endurance, and adaptability—I managed watches, provisioning, cooking, cleaning, and maintained both the interior and exterior, all while navigating changing weather and long passages.
I’m an organized and dependable team player who thrives in active, high-pressure environments. Whether working on deck, managing watch rotations, or creating a welcoming space below, I show up with care and consistency. I take pride in maintaining high standards, and I’m respectful, easy to get along with, and happy to take direction.
Alongside me is my partner Darryn—we’ve worked together in lifeguarding, creative marketing, and yachting. During our crossing, we shared tight living space with our captain and his wife, keeping a strong, professional, and positive dynamic throughout. That experience taught me the value of clear communication, flexibility, and mutual respect on board.
Beyond yachting, I’ve managed my own salon and social media platforms for small businesses and a hotel. I’ve worked as a server, event assistant, and helped with painting and housekeeping—roles that sharpened my eye for detail and people skills.
