Looking for a Novice Crew position

Hi - I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Novice Crew. I'm looking forward to meeting some new people! So far, I am just exploring the dream of sailing when I retire, so I need to start somewhere…
I have been married for 27 years with two grown children. I work as a plant manager of a concrete block manufacturer in the state of NY for 33 years. I work part-time for a nation wide car racing team as a fly-in mechanic and also a Class A car transporter diver since 2012. I am currently building an off grid cabin in the Catskills mountains of NY. I have extensive mechanical skills including; hydraulic,
electrical (AC and DC), pneumatic and PLC controlled high volume manufacturing.
I have always been drawn to activities that others might see as dangerous or difficult. I have a new found passion for solar generation and storage with success both at home and at my off grid property. I am not sure of when I plan to retire, but my work at my day job no longer fulfills my need for excitement. My plan is to join the race car team for the entire season (140 days total) and then cultivate some sailing skills during down time, and eventually own my own Island Packet.
