Ciaooo!! My name is Matilde, I'm a 24-year-old girl who fell in love with sailing about four years ago. I've always been passionate about the sea and navigation, thanks to my parents who threw me into the water when I was just a little kid. I grew up on small motorboats along the Tuscan and Ligurian coasts, started water skiing, and then, by chance, I discovered sailing one summer in Sardinia. Since that summer any excuse is a good one to get on board and learn. By now I manage pretty well, or at least that's what I've been told ahahah. I've taken dinghy courses on Quest, Laser, SB20, and Hobie Cat, participated in several regattas on a 1978 Grand Soleil 34, and worked as a buoy setter during races. Finally, I've sailed around Italy whenever I had the chance, always promising myself never to stop!
I am a sociable yet discreet person, always ready to have fun but with the need, from time to time, to spend some time with myself. I work well in a team, I have my own opinions but I know how to listen and trust those who know more than me. Adaptability is certainly not something I lack. If I become silent, I am not angry, upset, or anything like that I just need some time with my thoughts, this doesn’t mean I won’t carry out a task or do what needs to be done. I’m not perfect, but I’m not touchy either; if I’m doing something wrong, I won’t take offense if someone points it out to me. Most of all, I can’t wait to sail and keep learning!
