Novice Crew / Voluntary work - Atlantic & Pacific crossing France -> Tahiti - dec 2026
Hello, I’m a 27yo Frenchie looking to go to Tahiti (French Polynesia) by sailing boat from France (or Spain or nearby). The purpose of the trip is to join my boyfriend (starting a job there) in a sustainable way while embarking on an adventure! It would require to complete an Atlantic crossing and then a Pacific crossing to get there, starting December 2026.
Huge sailboat lover but starter level: my only experience has been joining a family of four for a 10-day trip in summer 2025 on a catamaran, including a Mediterranean crossing between Tunisia and Sardinia (during which I did 2 night watches). Also, I did a 5-day dinghy sailing course - not to say I have any noticeable skills, but passion is definitely there :)
Someday, I wish to have a sailboat of my own, so I am definitely wishing to learn as many skills and as much knowledge as possible along the way!
About me:
- Professionally, I am astronomy guide & science journalist - passionated by sharing contemplation of the night sky, wonders of nature & all things science
- Outdoor lover (especially hiking & a little climbing at the moment because I live in the mountains)
- Vegan because I am trying to have the least harmful impact on animals & ecosystems (I know this might make organising food more difficult but I love cooking, creating alternatives & I don’t mind people eating animal products around as long as I do not have to. I am ready to adapt as much as possible)
- Calm, enthusiastic and eager to learn kind of person!
- I like taking / editing photos & videos
- I enjoy an fit & healthy lifestyle, interested by wellbeing practices like meditation (completed a 10-day Vipassana course this year)
- I am not a drinker or a big party person
- NO romantic relationship
