I am currently seeking a permanent or temporary role as Deckhand, Deck/Stew or Medical staff in the yachting industry and am eager to bring my skills and diverse experiences to your esteemed team.
My Father was a skipper of large scale commercial fishing Trawlers. I worked for him during holidays, as I grew up, and gained a lot of experience doing various jobs from maintenance to even being invited on the bridge, to learn as much and help out where I could, while he captained the vessel. I was also fortunate enough to gain a lot of experience driving RIB's and other fishing vessels while we fished recreationally which I still do to this day.
My uncle owns a construction and maintenance company so if I wasn't on the boats with my dad I was helping out with construction carpentry, painting varnishing, using all manners of power tools and gaining a fair amount of experience as a handyman and tradesman
With a background as a qualified Intermediate Paramedic in the South African healthcare service, I have honed my ability to work effectively under pressure and in high-stress environments. My experience in emergency services, including my work with ambulance services and wildlife firefighting teams, has instilled in me a strong sense of teamwork, adaptability, and loyalty.
I believe these qualities would serve me well in a fast-paced maritime setting, where collaboration and efficient task execution are paramount.
I am a fast learner, dedicated to personal and professional growth. My physical fitness and strength allow me to manage the demands of physically challenging tasks, whether serving on deck or assisting with vessel maintenance. I also possess a basic skill level in carpentry, which I continuously seek to enhance in my pursuit of self-improvement.
My passion for service extends beyond my professional life. As a 3rd Dan Black Belt and internationally recognized instructor in Goju-Kai karate, I realize the importance of discipline, commitment, and the value of teaching others. My training and competition experience in Muay Thai further signify my dedication to achieving excellence in every endeavor I undertake.
