Experienced sailor, writer, cook
Hi - I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Competent Crew, Novice Crew, Friendship or Voluntary work.
I crewed on windjammer cruises’ Polynesia, a 248 foot Portuguese fishing schooner that accommodated around 130 people in the leewards; calling at Antigua, Barbuda, st kitts, Nevis saba, st barts. I also worked on the flying cloud out of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands.
I sailed a 46 foot swan from England to the Canary Islands and I’ve been on numerous Private charters with friends and family in the Virgin Islands.
I feel comfortable at the helm or in the galley, I designed and managed a restaurant and I’m fairly well-versed in all kinds of diets: normal every day food, and anything from Paleo to raw vegan. (I currently don’t follow any kind of strict diet but I do remember feeling amazing on the raw vegan diet.) I’ve been a student of natural health for most of my life. (Yet I’m not over bearing or preachy about it.)
At this point, I’m semi retired, but I’m working on some writing projects.
It would be great to be somewhere near some good scuba diving.
I’m interested in owning my own boat, particularly a catamaran so it would be great to work/live on a boat to be more informed towards that endeavor.
