Looking for a Novice Crew, Deckhand, Voluntary work or Delivery Crew position
Hi everyone, I am Camille a world traveler of 30 yo and my dream is to become a boat captain/skipper.
After a few sailing lessons in the Caribbean and getting my coastal license, I had a big experience on a Catamaran last June, trying to reach French Polynesia departure from New Zealand. Unfortunately after a rather violent storm that caused significant damages to the boat, we had to return to New Zealand.
Arrived in Fiji beginning of July, I sailed on a Catamaran to Kadavu and around. After a little trip to Malamala on my first monohull, I jumped on Inca, a 1986 Sparkman and Stephens ketch.
We sailed from Vuda Marina through the Yasawas, Yadua and now we reached Bua Bay. We will finish our trip in a few days at Savusavu and as my Captain has to take a flight on the 28th we unfortunately do not have enough time to go to Taveuni and Lau group as it was planned.
That's the reason I wish to find another boat to continue sailing a bit more around Fiji as my visa is still valid for 2 months.
I have now a bit over 2000NM of experience, strong skills with steering, night watch, dinghy driving, tacking and all other maneuvers.
I am really looking for practicing more and more before going to Polynesia and pass my yacht master.
I'm someone joyful, dynamic, quick to adapt and easygoing. I also enjoy cooking nice and healthy meal to share.
I'd love to join as a volunteer or contribute in any way I can. Happy to help with anything needed on board and very excited for any adventures !
