As an experienced Skipper with over 20 years of sailing: I am looking for a CAPTAIN/SKIPPER POSITION: Short Term/Long Term/Fixed Time Frame/ Deliveries. Can Teach Others to Sail and guide Learners on all aspects of Sailing and Safety. Available: Immediately. Please note I speak ENGLISH fluently.
GENERAL
I have sailed over 150,000 nm. I am a very responsible, capable, dedicated, and excellent sailor. I take my responsibilities seriously and fully understand the possible consequences of all decisions made in a position of leadership. I am a people’s person and enjoy helping and assisting and love entertaining (I play acoustic and electric guitar and compose my music and lyrics) aI am considered an outstanding Chef, and have a great sense humour. I would be an asset to any company/yacht owner seeking my services.
SAILING EXPERIENCE
I have been sailing for over 20 years (150 000 nm). My blue water sailing has taken me across the South Atlantic, South America, North Atlantic, Mediterranean, South Pacific, East & West Coast of east Africa, the Northern Indian Ocean, Middle East, and Asia as far as China.
I am a well-rounded seaman with a vast skill set, and a good understanding of boat systems, trouble shooting, maintenance, damage prevention, and repairs. I am a previous boat owner and have spent several years, refitting, maintaining, and sailing my own boat.
I have also been delivering mono-hulls and catamarans of various sizes for Gypsy Yacht Deliveries www.gypsyyachtdeliveries.com which my brother, Jason Ruger owns and Zephyr World Wide Deliveries www.zephyrwyd.com which I own. I have also delivered Leopard cats for TUI Marine (Sun Sail and Moorings).
