More about me from HandGegenKoje (german internet page):
Hello, fellow sailing enthusiasts,
In my professional life, I work as an electrical engineer aboard container ships; during my time off—which usually amounts to around 10 weeks—I would like to participate in holiday cruises or vessel delivery trips, either as a skipper or as crew.
My sailing experience includes:
- 6 months sailing the northern Caribbean (from Port of Spain, Grenada, Martinique, and Dominica up to Guadeloupe) aboard a 25-meter private yacht, carrying passengers.
- An Atlantic crossing (west-to-east) while delivering a private yacht.
- 12 months working for *Sailing Classics* in the Mediterranean as a bosun, technician, and helmsman.
- 6 months working for *Ecker Yachting* in Göcek, Turkey, as a charter manager/technician.
- Private sailing trips on Lake Constance, the North Sea, and the Baltic Sea.
- 12 years of professional experience at sea as an electrical engineer. While this doesn't directly involve sailing, it entails extensive technical expertise—covering everything from watermakers and engines to radar systems.
- 2025 Voyage: Cuxhaven – São Miguel (Azores). Route: Cuxhaven, Heligoland, English Channel, Brittany, Bay of Biscay, Spain, and on to Ponta Delgada (Azores). Approx. 1,900 nautical miles.
I hold the German Coastal Boating License (*SBF See*) and the necessary radio operator's license. Professionally, I naturally hold all relevant STCW certificates.
Fair winds, Peter
