Looking for a Competent Crew, Voluntary work or Deckhand position
Hi, my name is Maaike. I recently graduated from university and am currently taking a gap year. One of the things I would really love to do during this time is cross the Atlantic Ocean.
I grew up sailing. My parents owned a 40-foot sailing yacht, and from a young age I spent a lot of time on the water. During the summer holidays we would often make longer trips to Denmark and around the IJsselmeer, including overnight passages and spending several days at sea. Sailing has always been a big part of my life.
My parents recently sold the boat, and I have realized how much I miss being out on the water. I would love to join a boat for an adventure, help out as crew, and be part of a great team. I have sailing experience and am comfortable at sea, but I am also eager to learn more and gain new experiences.
Besides sailing, I am easy-going, social, and enjoy working together with people from different backgrounds. I have worked and lived in several countries, which has made me adaptable and culturally aware. I also love cooking, so I would be more than happy to prepare some good meals for the crew during the trip.
I am looking for a friendly crew and a shared adventure. If you are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable crew member around October/November, I would love to hear from you!
