Watch: Atlantic Passage 2013
Lifelong sailor looking for cruising, deliveries and mile building
I'm a Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager on a sabbatical until mid December 2026 seeking to do more of what I love: sail as many miles, visit as many ports, meet as many friends and learn from as many cultures as I can. I´m currently in New York City and traveling to Mykonos, Greece looking for a sailboat to crew.
I´m a 42yo lifelong sailor with experience in dinghy racing, teaching, boatbuilding and one Atlantic passage and >5.000mn sailed. I´m interested in ocean passage and coastal sailing with enthusiast, safe and sensitive crews. I´m considering getting the RYA qualification at some point underway.
From 2009 to 2014 I was a sailing instructor in Colombia, teaching over 50 students how to sail. In 2013 I crossed the Atlantic Ocean from Cadiz to St Martin on a 45ft Hunter. In 2016 I built a 17ft Northeaster Dory at The Wooden Boat School in Annapolis. Since 2018 I have been training and participating as National Judge and Protest Committee for national and international sailing events.
On my journey so far I have crewed a Lagoon 42 for 280mn in the Caribbean Windward islands of Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and Grenada. I'm drawing a sketch every day and practice slackline wherever I'm ashore.
On shore, I´m a Mechanical Engineer MSc, PMP Project Manager for Siemens Energy and Ontological Coach from Newfield Network. When possible, I prefer a vegetarian diet (including eggs and cheese) but I can eat fish and chicken, when no other option. My hobbies include sketching, cooking, slackline, highline, photography, yoga, crochet knitting, going to therapy, reading, writing, motorcycle riding and getting a new hobby every other month.
