Experienced Med charter sailor seeking skipper or crew work
Hi,
I'm Victor, a 28 year old Belgian sailor looking for skipper or crew work for [trip/season/delivery]. I have been sailing since I was seven, starting in 420 dinghy racing before moving into yachts, and I hold a Belgian Yachtman license along with SRC VHF and first aid.
Over the past three seasons I have worked professionally across the Mediterranean, in Croatia, Greece and Sardinia, for Yacht Week, Med Sailing Holidays and Sailing Venues, handling boats including the Lagoon 42 and 450F, Oceanis 51, Dufour 46 and Hanse 588, both mono and multihull. I am comfortable with watchkeeping, basic engine maintenance and looking after guests and the boat through a full charter week. I learned my seamanship in the North Sea, sailing between Zeebrugge (Belgium) and Boulogne Sur Mer (France) with Channel crossings to Dover, and I have logged roughly 2,500 nautical miles overall, including an 800 nautical mile offshore crossing from the Azores to A Coruña. Building serious ocean miles is the direction I want to go.
I am reliable, adaptable and comfortable both on charter guest work and longer passages. I am looking primarily for paid work but I am flexible and happy to sail on an expenses basis to help around the boat and build the right partnership. I would be glad to share references or more detail, and I would love to hear more about the trip.
Best regards,
Victor
