Looking for a 1st Mate or Delivery Crew position
Interested in joining as delivery crew or 1st mate, depending on the skipper's needs and expectations. I have 8 years of sailing experience and a skipper's license, but this would be my first ocean crossing.
Hi! I'm Guy, and I'm looking to join a crew for an Atlantic crossing this coming season.
I've been sailing for around 8 years and hold a skipper's license, with roughly 1,000 nautical miles of experience. Most of my sailing over the past five years has been in Greece, mainly on charter boats, so I'm comfortable with life aboard, watchkeeping, navigation, and being part of a small crew.
I'm not a professional sailor, and I don't want to pretend to be one — but I'm confident on a boat, responsible, practical, and very eager to gain real offshore and ocean-crossing experience.
Back on land, I own and run a stargazing and astronomy tour business in the Israeli desert. I know the night sky very well, so on a clear night somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic, I can definitely contribute more than just my share of the night watch :)
I'm easygoing, social, curious, and used to working with people. I enjoy being part of a team, but I'm also comfortable with long quiet hours and the simple rhythm of life outdoors.
For me, crossing the Atlantic isn't just transportation from one continent to another. It's something I've wanted to experience properly — the sailing, the watches, the ocean, the people, and everything that comes with it.
