Experienced Crew Member | First Mate experience | Seeking Delivery Trips, Offshore Sailing & Ocean Crossings
Hi, I'm Peter from the Netherlands.
I have many years of experience on a variety of sailing yachts and other vessels, both in the Netherlands and abroad. My most notable sailing yacht experience was as First Mate on a 41-foot Dufour in the Caribbean. I have sailed extensively on Dutch inland waters and also have sailed along the Côte d'Azur.
In addition, I joined a delivery voyage as cook/deckhand on an 85-foot (26m) harbour tug from the Netherlands to Lagos, Nigeria. The voyage included heavy weather in the Bay of Biscay, which I handled without any issues with seasickness. The trip confirmed that I am comfortable spending extended periods at sea and working as part of a crew.
One of the things I enjoy most about sailing is being part of a crew and sharing the experience of life at sea. Being fit, active and comfortable with life on board, I'm happy to help wherever needed, from watchkeeping and sail handling to cooking, provisioning and maintenance.
I am particularly interested in delivery trips, coastal and offshore sailing, and ocean crossings. Whether it is coastal sailing along the North Sea, a delivery trip in European waters or an Atlantic crossing, I enjoy expanding my experience, gaining additional sea miles and contributing as part of a capable crew.
