Looking for a Crew position
My name is Pete. I'm a 30 year old sailor from the UK looking for opportunities to crew from October 2026 onwards. I'm taking a six month sabbatical from work and would love to spend as much of it sailing as possible. See below for some further information - if any of this looks relevant I would love to hear from you.
Sailing experience
500 offshore miles as crew in the Canary Islands, including consecutive night watches.
c.1000 coastal miles as crew in the Solent and Portugal.
Bareboat charter skipper in the Mediterranean.
Experience on 38ft monohulls.
Comfortable helming, sail trim, reefing, anchoring, pilotage and watchkeeping, and always happy to help with maintenance, cooking and keeping the boat running (all crew tasks!!)
Qualifications
RYA Day Skipper.
SRC/VHF Licence.
ISAF qualified (Word Sailing Offshore Sea Survival)
What I'm looking for?
I'm open to a wide range of sailing opportunities, from individual passages to longer cruising adventures. My long-term ambition is to head towards the Pacific, ideally completing an Atlantic crossing along the way, but I'm interested in hearing about any offshore opportunities that fit.
More about me
Outside of sailing I hold a Private Pilot's Licence (aerobatic rated!!) and enjoy mountaineering and generally anything outdoor adventure related. I'm easy-going, reliable, don't suffer from seasickness, and enjoy being part of a team both on and off watch.
I hold both UK and Irish passports and am happy to provide sailing references if helpful.
If you're looking for reliable crew for a passage or longer trip, I'd love to hear from you. Please feel free to send me a direct message.
