Looking for a Lead Deckhand, Delivery Crew or Deckhand position
Hi,
I'm Carles, happy, active and bubbly. Hands-on deck crew member with solid experience across charter operations, shipyard work, water sports and deliveries. I enjoy working in motivated teams and take pride in contributing positively to both the standard of the yacht and the onboard atmosphere.
I am currently in the UK, but available asap. Recently completed a Mediterranean season with the 32m M/Y I have worked before just after coming back from Australia, where I did a two-month charter contract in the Whitsundays onboard a 69ft catamaran, joining prior to launch to help bring the vessel up to charter standard. Working closely with the captain in a small crew, I assisted with maintenance, teak repairs, engine room tasks, water sports operations, galley support when required, and rotating bridge watches. This role required adaptability, initiative and a high level of responsibility.
Previously, I worked onboard the 34m sailing yacht Kawil, completing a long delivery from Australia to Indonesia before returning as Relief Bosun to prepare the yacht for the season. My duties included varnishing projects, coordinating with the engineer, organising deck operations and training new crew. I also completed a three-month shipyard period onboard the 49m M/Y Big Sky, where the yacht was fully emptied. We did sandblasting, coating and painting all lockers, stock organisation for bosun lockers, all toy maintenance, teak repairing, varnishing and detailing.
Last Mediterranean season, I worked as Sole Deckhand onboard a 32m private/charter motor yacht with heavy usage. I was responsible for all deck maintenance, water sports, docking and stern-to-rock operations, and regularly assisted on the bridge, including solo navigation when required. Earlier, I also spent 11 months onboard a 37m motor yacht, covering a shipyard period, guest operations and a 3,000-nautical-mile Mediterranean delivery.
Throughout my career, I have frequently been asked to extend contracts or return to vessels, reflecting my work ethic, positive attitude and ability to integrate well within a team. I am now looking for a new opportunity where I can continue to develop, take on greater responsibility and progress towards senior deck roles. I bring strong energy, positivity and a genuine enthusiasm for challenges, and I am keen to contribute proactively onboard.
