Hi! I’m Tabitha from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
I’m looking for an opportunity to spend some time sailing in a warmer climate together with my partner. He is a passionate and experienced sailor, while I’m still at the beginning of my own sailing journey. I’ve sailed before and really enjoyed it, and being with someone who is a sailor at heart has made me increasingly curious about sailing and everything that comes with it.
I’m currently working towards getting my boating licence, and one of my goals for the new year is to gain more practical experience and become more confident on the water. As the recreational sailing season in the Netherlands is more or less over, we thought: why wait until spring when there are sunnier places to learn and sail?
For my partner it’s a chance to spend more time doing what he loves; for me it’s an opportunity to learn. So you get a bit of both: an experienced sailor and an enthusiastic beginner who is eager to become a much better one.
I’m definitely not looking for a holiday where I simply sit back and enjoy the view. I genuinely want to participate and learn about all aspects of sailing and life on board — navigation, manoeuvring, anchoring, planning, safety and the practical day-to-day routines. I’m a quick learner, hands-on and happy to get involved.
In everyday life, I run my own real estate business in Amsterdam. My work is dynamic and people-oriented, and I’m used to taking responsibility, solving problems and adapting quickly when things don’t go according to plan. I’m independent, sociable and curious, and enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds.
We’d love to join a friendly and experienced skipper or crew who enjoys sharing knowledge, good company and, of course, sailing. Hopefully we can exchange part of the Dutch winter for sunshine, sea miles and some great experiences together.
