dive professionals looking for adventures and gain Expirience on Sailing
My name is Anni, I’m a 36-year-old Finnish adventurer with a strong passion for the ocean, sailing, and remote nature. I hold an International Bareboat Skipper License (March 2025) and a VHF Short Range Certificate, and I’m currently looking to join sailing boats as a crew member to gain hands-on experience and build sea miles — ultimately preparing myself to one day own and captain my own sailboat.
I've spent over 10 years living on remote Indonesian islands, working as a Scuba Diving Instructor, coral restoration volunteer, and small motorboat owner. I'm no stranger to life on the water — whether it's working from an old catamaran in Papua, managing jungle logistics, or navigating with a 15hp dinghy across remote archipelagos.
I'm:
Positive, friendly, calm under pressure
Comfortable with off-grid, simple living
A strong swimmer, yoga enthusiast, nature lover
Used to sharing space, working in teams, and finding joy in daily tasks (cleaning, cooking, deck work)
Fluent in English and Indonesian
Vegetarian (eat what I catch policy — fish only)
I’m hoping to find a captain or crew open to teaching and including an enthusiastic, adaptive, and sea-loving new skipper. I'm also open to covering my own travel costs or contributing to the boat's shared expenses.
For longer passages (especially Pacific routes or liveaboard opportunities), I’d love to join with my husband, Fatur. He’s Indonesian, holds a 60-mile offshore captain’s licence, and is also a dive instructor and experienced boat crew with MacGyver-like mechanical skills and deep sea-and-jungle know-how.
Whether short trips (1–3 months solo) or longer journeys (as a couple), I’m excited to learn, contribute, and grow as a sailor.
Looking forward to connecting!
