AVAILABLE FOR ANY VOYAGE - ONE WAY -FROM SE ASIA (FLEXIBLE) TO SE AUSTRALIA (ULTIMATELY MELBOURNE) IN OCT, NOV, DEC 2024.
Recently retired after many years in Middle East oilfields, mining in Africa & Asia and latterly with United Nations Peacekeepers in Africa. 70 years young, male, dual Aus/Brit nationality, based at Zandvoort, Netherlands (Dutch wife). Would like to sail with an experienced but easy going skipper/crew from whom I can learn & with whom I can share life at sea.
Many years sail trimmer/deck hand/watch leader on 12-15 metre yachts, mostly on 7-10 day cruises. Passed Day Skipper (Theory & Practical), July 2017. (Took my Ocean Yacht Masters Theory many years ago, but never took the Practical, thus rendering the Theory invalid). Basic navigation, watch keeping, boat handling & night passage experience. Happy to work in boat repairs (scraping, painting etc); can cook if you are desperate, but am hopeless at electrics.
Non-smoker, good sense of humour, solvent, heterosexual, reasonably fit, enjoy a social drink, no hang ups. Don't eat meat very often (as I much prefer other foods), but am not a vegetarian. Speak fluent English & French + basic Dutch. Happy to pay own costs & contribute to communal costs.
