RYA YM Offshore / Commercially endorsed / Greece
I learned sailing from scratch with BMW Sailing Academy in Lisbon Portugal on regatta boats, the Archambault Grand Surprise in a team, of max 6. Then I joined a Dufour 40 regatta boat as bowman and advanced my sailing skills on this position a lot, before I entered the RYA training scheme.
Starting out with RYA Day Skipper, joining boats in the Biscaya, Portuguese Cost, Madeira, Açores, I sailed from Cascais through the Balearic Islands, Corse, Sardinia, Sicily, the Ionian to the Aegean Sea.
Today, I have been living in the Dodecanese Islands in Greece, sailing on my own Hallberg Rassy Monsun. I live 8-10months per year on the boat and established a small program where I take people onboard to help them stop looking at their phone screens the entire day and re-connect to the natural environment and socially.
Meanwhile, I advanced to RYA YM Offshore with commercial and STCW endorsement. During the last seasons, I worked as Yacht Skipper on 46-52 feet monohulls in the Dodecanese, Saronic Gulf and Cyclades. The miles I stopped to count, since it is of now importance. The best sailors I met, sail a dinghy 3h per day around their island and resolve problems when the shit hits the fan.
I am happy to connect here for skipper job opportunities and friendships with like-minded folks. I'd like to contribute my background as a sports scientist, the experience of 15 years in digital marketing positions in the sports industry and the passion for life at sea to the matching team and project.
Personally, my ambition is to advance to RYA Cruising Instructor and build more nautical engineering skills around composites and engine maintenance.
