Looking for Captain/1st Mate, Delivery Crew or Racing/Racing Crew position
Hello, I’m Max. I’m an easy going, experienced Captain looking for a safety conscious and adventurous active sailing crew/vessel. I have a full skill set and enjoy learning from experience as much as teaching. I’m just as at home crossing the Atlantic as I am in the shallows of the Bahamas. Both have their charms.
My most recent experience consists of 3 months and an Atlantic crossing as 1st Mate on SY-Azizam (26m 72t carbon catamaran), Captain of SY-Axiom (20m 72t steel Conrad 66) and 3 years 1st Mate/Engineer. I have multiple Atlantic passages as well as the Med, Caribbean, Bahamas, Red Sea, Indian Ocean, and Seychelles familiarity. Prior to that I spent 6 mths as Skipper/1st Mate in the South Pacific, Cook Strait, New Zealand's East Coast, Minerva Reef, and Savu Savu, Fiji on a 1983 55' Tayana center-cockpit cutter sloop supporting an older couple who owned it. The rest of my experience has been in the Chesapeake Bay and in South Florida as skipper on a Catalina 455 and racing a Tripp 33'. Farr 395 and a Tartan 40'. References upon request.
