Aspiring sailor, Keen to learn, crew & explore
Hi there! I'm Eden, a documentary filmmaker and photographer based in Far North Queensland, Australia.
I've always been drawn to the ocean, remote places and the kind of experiences that take you outside your comfort zone. Over the years, that curiosity has taken me in all sorts of directions, but sailing is something I've dreamed of learning for a very long time. I'm finally at a point in my life where I'm ready to make it a real part of my future.
My partner and I have a long-term dream of living aboard our own sailboat, exploring the Australian coastline and eventually venturing further into the Pacific and beyond. But before any of that, I want to learn properly, build genuine experience and understand what it really takes to be a capable, confident and responsible sailor.
I'm looking for opportunities to join experienced sailors for day sails, coastal passages or longer adventures where I can contribute as crew, learn from others and gradually develop my seamanship.
Although I'm still a beginner when it comes to sailing, I'm practical, hardworking, curious and very comfortable with the realities of life outdoors. I'm a quick learner, happy to get my hands dirty and always willing to help with whatever needs doing. I'm not looking to simply be a passenger. I want to understand the boat, participate in the work and become someone a skipper can genuinely rely on.
Outside of sailing, I work in documentary filmmaking and photography, particularly around conservation, people, culture and the natural world. I love good storytelling, meaningful conversations, meeting people from different walks of life and learning from those who have spent years doing what they love.
I'm easygoing, independent and genuinely enjoy being part of a team. I value clear communication, mutual respect, safety and a good sense of humour, especially when things don't quite go according to plan.
