Skipper, mate or deck position
With over six years of hands-on maritime experience - spanning tall ships, private charters, and flotilla support across the UK, Europe, Australia, and the Caribbean - I bring a well-rounded skill set, strong guest service instincts, and a reliable, team-focused attitude.
My recent roles include Flotilla Technician for Sunsail in Croatia and deck crew aboard the 166ft schooner *Vela* in the BVI, where I handled everything from docking assistance and outboard maintenance to snorkel supervision and tender operations. I have also served as Mate for a family company Sydney Tallships, taking the lead on daily vessel turnarounds, charter prep, and offshore voyages, while ensuring a high standard of guest experience.
I pride myself on being practical, calm under pressure, and approachable - equally at home varnishing rails as I am hosting guests. With solid technical foundations (engine/generator upkeep, rigging, anchoring, detailing, etc.) and effective communication skills, I am confident I can slot into a busy yacht environment and contribute from day one.
My long-term goal is to become a skipper of larger vessels, and in the meantime, I am eager to keep learning, build strong relationships, and help deliver the kind of top-tier service and safety that yachting demands.
