Looking for a Lead Mate/Deckhand position
Hello, my name is Dmitry.
I am looking for work on board a sailing or motor yacht as Mate or Deckhand. I am interested in working on a full-time basis and can become a very valuable member of the crew of your yacht, thanks to the working qualities, approach to work and the experience I have.
I sailed about 3500 NM on board sailing yachts and catamarans. Regions sailed: Volga River, Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. I have good working skills and I can do a lot on board. I have experience in the slipway work on the restoration of fiberglass underwater parts of the hull of the yacht Bavaria 46. Able to keep the watch according to the ship's schedule. Have good steering skills. Have sailing experience in places with difficult navigation conditions (crossed the Strait of Gibraltar), where conducted radio negotiations with oncoming ships and VTS. Able to perform maritime radio exchange in Russian and English. Experienced user of Electronic charts, AIS and other navigation equipment. Many times took part in bunkering operations for both fuel and drinking water. Advanced mooring skills including strong wind conditions. Hard Working person and know how to work for the result. I have developed this trait in myself thanks to the sports that I have been doing all my life. I am curious and quickly learn new things. Constant development and acquisition of new
knowledge is one of my life values. I am perfectly healthy, mentally and physically. I am always in a calm and good mood. I know how to effectively deal with fears and anxieties, even in a critical situation. I have a high resistance to stress and a stable psyche. I practice yoga and breathing techniques. Indifferent to alcohol and tobacco.
I have good communication skills and am great at getting along with people. I developed this skill while working as an alpine skiing instructor from 2017 to 2021. I can find an approach and understanding with people in a variety of situations. I’m not a troublemaker focused on avoiding conflicts and I think that it is always better and more profitable to come to an agreement than to argue. Anyone who hires me for a job will receive a reliable and efficient assistant, motivated to develop and grow professionally.
