Looking for a Delivery Crew, Friendship, Voluntary work or 1st Mate position
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Jeff Kendrick, and Im a UK-based mariner with over
20 years of professional experience aboard motor yachts from 40m to 80m, where I progressed from
deckhand to First Mate. I previously held a Chief Mate <3000GT commercial license and hold RYA
Ocean and Offshore Yachtmaster (Motor) certifications.
Im currently transitioning into the world of sail cruising and am seeking opportunities to join
experienced skippers on offshore or coastal passages. My sailing experience includes an Atlantic
crossing in 2001 aboard a 52ft cutter-rigged sloop and a 2024 Indian Ocean passage from the
Maldives to the Suez Canal aboard a sailing catamaran. I also completed the RYA Competent Crew
course before beginning my career at sea.
I bring with me extensive seamanship, navigation, watchkeeping, and safety management skills,
including passage planning, drills, and inspections. Im calm, reliable, easy to get along with, and
used to working as part of a close-knit crew in demanding conditions. I'm eager to contribute
wherever needed while gaining more hands-on experience under sail, as I prepare to purchase and
cruise my own 3840ft bluewater monohull.
