I am Jakob, a sailing fan, Looking for crewing positions starting in spain this autumn
I am during the summer working as a mountain guide at the highest mountain in Sweden, Kebnekaise. During the last two winters have I been working as a ski patrol, doing avalanche mitigation and first aid at a skiresort. People in my surroundings describe me as a responsible, structured, social, confident and calm person. I enjoy new challenges and adventures.
I have a Swedish inshore yachtmaster diploma (3 days course, with focus on navigation). My grandparents had a boat when I was younger and its on that boat I learned to sail. Nowadays both my sister and some close friends have sailing boats and I usually sail with them a few weeks every summer. This summer for example I sailed along the coast of Denmark and over to the east coast of Sweden. I also have my own sailing dinghy that me and my friends do daytrips with. My native language is of course Swedish but I speak English fluently. I usually dont have any problems with seasickness.
On my spare time I prefer to be out in the woods with my friends either rock climbing, hiking, kayaking sailing or skiing. I am a swedish climbing instructor. I grew up on a farm outside Örebro (in the middle of Sweden). Growing up on a farm has made me handy, and I am use to doing both carpeting and fixing mechanical stuff that needs to be fixed.
I have also travelled a lot; 2011/2012 I worked in the housekeeping department on a Canadian ski resort, a fun time when I got to ski in some of the best resorts in the world. During 2012/2013 I travelled Australia, where I was worked at pear farm and at a cleaning company, both located in southern Australia. I like seeing new places and meeting new people; and have except Canada and Australia travelled around in Morocco, Fiji, USA, New Zealand and most countries in Europe. To get the opportunity to travel and sail combined sounds to me really appealing and that’s the reason that I am applying for a position on your boat.
