curious for sailing experience in Europe
Hi,
My name is Maxim and I'm a Belgian cameraman looking for a new adventure. I've just joined Crewbay and hope to find a ship/boat on which I could sail this summer/autumn. And hopefully start some new friendships along the way. As a person I think I can say I'm handy. Or at least I love to work with my hands in my free time (mainly on old cars and motorbikes).
Generally I'm quite patient and do not get stressed easily. This does not mean I'm lazy, I'm a hands on guy with a lot of energy. But I do enjoy the piece and quiet of just staring at the beauty of nature. On the other hand, I can be a bit talkative. Sometimes a bit to much, if you want to believe my friends and relatives.
My sailing skills are very basic. As a kid I went on summersailcamps twice. This was mainly on Caravels and 420's. So tiny open boats basically. Apart from those summercamps my best friends parents had a sailboat on which I went along a few times. But the last time must have been at leest 15 years ago...
The reason I'm joining crewbay is because I wanted to do something different. I hardly ever plan my hollidays and end up doing a roadtrip with some like-minded friends. Always with crappy old cars, just to make things a bit more interesting.
But this summer I've had it with driving and because I've always loved water (I've spend a great deal of my life in the pool and open water for swimming and diving) spending some time on a boat seemed a good alternative!
For the whole of july I'm free and even in august/september I can manage to get a lot of time free from work. It doesn't really matter where I'll be going to. Preferable not into the middle of a tropical storm.
Let's hope there is a boat that has got some room left over for me!
