Looking for a Bluewater sailing opportunity November 2026
Fellow Shipmates,
I'm Merle (34) and currently taking a six-month break between two jobs. I'm looking to get into bluewater sailing and would love to join a boat heading across the Atlantic from the Canaries or Cabo Verde towards Brazil or the Caribbean, from November 2026 onwards. I'm also open towards other opportunities.
I've been part of different sailing crews on yachts and tall ships. My loveliest experience was cruising along the Portuguese Atlantic coast on a yacht with a British skipper (with the most incredible humor) that I found through a crew-finding platform. Living together in a small shared space can certainly be an experience of its own, but I really enjoy the sense of camaraderie that grows when you sail, work and live together as a crew.
I'm now looking to take the next step into offshore sailing and would love to gain experience on a longer ocean passage. I'm happy to stand watches, cook, help on deck and with whatever needs doing.
I'm looking for a shared-cost opportunity and would love to find a boat and crew that I can contribute to and learn from.
