Atlantic crossing or other suggestions
My name is Yvonne, I’m 36 years old. Three years ago, I first heard about the possibility of hitchhiking across the Atlantic by sailboat – and the idea immediately fascinated me.
A year later, in 2022, I gained my first sailing experience in Greece. Since then, I’ve logged around 10.00 nautical miles on 31 different boats. My time on board has ranged from just a few days to up to five months, with the longest passage being from Mindelo (Cape Verde) to Barbados.
I’ve sailed with solo skippers, couples and families. I’ve also helped with a refit, spent time in a winter marina, and boatsitted.
Currently, I’m in Tenerife. I’d love to do another crossing and discover more of the Caribbean but I'm also open for other suggestions if it feels right. I’m open to new and exciting routes.
What motivates me: I want to deepen my seamanship, explore new places, and share the journey with inspiring people. Ideally on a longer adventure, where there’s time to truly immerse in the experience and connect with the local culture.
A few facts about me: I speak German and English, don’t smoke, have no special dietary preferences, and enjoy cooking. I also love spending time with children and can help with maintenance tasks on board if needed. When I’m not sailing, I spend most of my time outdoors – hiking, exploring new places, or capturing beautiful moments with my camera.

Sailed with me for 3 months
Yvonne boarded the boat as Crew in Las Palmas Gran Canaria down to Cabo Verde and over the Atlantic to Barbados, Tobago and Grenada where she disembarked the boat. We where only to on the boat and got along well. She has no problem taking watches and handling the boat. She is happy to learn things she doesn’t know and has no problem to help with the Chores onboard. On shore she is a good to have gathering information on destinations and like to explore and do hikes. During her stay I enjoyed her company and can recommend her sailing with you Mvh Fredrik
