I am looking for crew who share my passion for travel, adventure and sailing and love being by, on, in and under the water! No sailing experience is required, but you would be expected to be keen to learn. Experienced crew are welcome.
We currently do various local trips in south and eastern Tasmania, ultimately with the dream of cruising the east coast of Australia, the western Pacific and Indonesia. I have a passion for travelling, surfing, diving, hiking, camping, kayaking, Nature, good food, music and, of course, sailing. I work in environmental education.
I love to single hand, but also often sail with my partner, friends and/or my daughter. The yacht is comfortable with one, two, or three crew, but gets cramped with more than four people aboard on extended trips, although I love to have heaps of people onboard for day sails.
Crew are expected share our view that safety is the main priority. You need be flexible with time schedules, passionate about sailing, have some experience or be eager to learn. You should have a thirst for adventure, concern for the environment, desire for sustainable travel, and a happy, easy going nature.

2Wonderful experience
I had a fantastic time sailing with Steve on his yacht Gypsy! We sailed along the south-east coast of Tasmania and back, and I always felt completely safe – both on Gypsy and with him. Steve is a highly competent and trustworthy skipper — calm, patient, and very experienced. Gypsy is a solid, safe and well-equipped vessel, perfectly suited for both short trips and longer passages. He is a great teacher. I learned so much while sailing with him, and he always took the time to explain things. He's also just a wonderful person to be around — full of stories, knowledge, and good vibes. I wholeheartedly recommend crewing with Steve. I'd sail with him again anytime!

Highly recommended
I've had the pleasure of having Steve as a crew on my vessel in Sydney...and then I got to be crew on his vessel in Tasmania! This is what it is all about!!! Both were great experiences and I can't recommend him enough either as crew or captan. Lots of knowledge in sailing and in life. We will certainly be doing more sailing and catching up in general in the future. If you get the opportunity, jump on it!!!
