Competent Crew wanted
Hi
I am an Australian with a background in design engineering who has a strong interest in sailing and all things technical in sailing boats, especially catamarans. I regard myself extremely lucky in that my engineering career has allowed me the financial capability to enjoy my passion. In this regard I am a perfectionist with any boat I own.
I have 10 years sailing experience over 3 previous cats in the Pacific region and one cat in the Med and have run with various different crew during this whole period. My catamaran (a Fontaine Pajot Tanna 47) is currently wintered in Tunisia.
I have no interest in sailing in the med in peak periods, and now want to sail around the Peloponnese in Greece in April/May 2024 leaving Port Yasmine Tunisia early October and then leaving the boat on the hard in Preveza Greece sometime in early June. After the Med peak period I will return and sail up to Croatia and then winter the boat in Montenegro end 2024.
This will be predominantly day sailing other than to passage to and from Tunisia to Sicily and then Sicily to the Peloponnese.
Key attributes :-
(1) Want experienced crew who have experience in the following :-
(i) Night Watches
(ii) Med Mooring
(iii) Anchoring
(iv) Sail Handling
(v) Provisioning
(vi) Cooking
At least 2000nm experience with night watches included. No beginners please.
(2) Want crew who can devote the time necessary (in this case 2-3 months) and not be constrained by external issues or relationships.
(3) Want ethical and responsible crew who agree a commitment and honour that commitment
(4) Want cruising crew - not delivery crew. i.e. you have to be happy to be on a boat with no particular destination or time on your mind.
(5) Want crew who are interested in all technical aspects of boat technology and maintenance, not just sailing, this especially related to catamarans. i.e. pitch in at any time to debug and fix problems.
(6) Want crew who keep a very tidy and safe boat. By this I mean those that clearly understand the time and physical input required to keep the boat in good condition.

All costs except food and alcohol covered. You would be expected to contribute to food expenses and supply your own alcohol..
