Hi from the Sailing Vessel Cayenne

Hi I am currently in Cartegena Columbia and planning to go to Jamaica either straight across or through Panama. I am planning to leave either late April or early May. Looking for one or two people to join the trip and maybe farther.

I own a Passport 40 sailboat named Cayenne. I am currently sailing to Panama. I typically sail alone or have friends but I am considering a crew person or two that would be interested in sailing to Panama. This is not a delivery trip, I stay in anchorages or dock in City's for a few days or sometimes a week. We go ashore enjoy hiking, seeing sights, restaurants, or exploring islands, snorkeling, hookah, SUP, or just laying around reading. So I am looking for someone who wants to enjoy traveling and seeing things.

Food costs will be shared, alcohol is your cost and I do drink, light smoking is ok. I take care of the boat and fuel. You need to have transportation to the boat and from the boat when you want to leave.

I am a US Coast Guard captain, sailing instructor, and SCUBA Instructor. I can train someone to sail but they must want to learn.

Crew should expect to stand watches, cook, clean, sail the boat, operate systems after being trained. Cooking and cleaning is shared.

Gary

  • Boat descriptionHi my boat is currently stored in Farado Puerto Rico. I am considering having crew to leave and go south in the Islands with the final destination is Trinidad. My first stop is St. Croix. I am still staying for a few weeks in places to see the place, not in a rush so if you are looking for milage building I might not be the person. If you are looking to see things and relax we might be a fit. Cayenne is a Passport 40 a performance cruiser. She has VHF, SSB, Satelite Phone, EPIRB, Flares, 6 person life raft, emergency water maker, first aid kits, and numerous other things for safety. Two sets of chart plotter, the primary one is Raymarine with radar and sonar and a backup Garmin unit. The engine is a 2010 Yanmar Diesel. Cayenne has a spectra water maker and has 120 gallons of water storage. Cayenne has 110 gallons of Fuel and 2 propane storage tanks. Cayenne has main, roller furling jib, skreecher, 2 spinnakers, and a blooper. All control lines including reefing for main and jib are located in the cockpit. Cayenne has four solar panels generating up to 500 Watts and a wind generator. Dinghy davits hold the dinghy on the stern with a 6 Hp motor for the dinghy. The shower and the head are separate but she only has one. The kitchen has a new 3 burner Force 10 stove with a oven, microwave, 2 sinks, refrigerator, and a grill on the stern. Cayenne is fun to sail and is great to fly the spinnaker on.
